This yuletide season, we'll take a look at the youngest town of Romblon. Hailed as the greenest and the cleanest municipality in the islands, Santa Maria (previously Concepcion and Imelda) is known for its majestic municipal hall comparable with Baguio's Mansion and a landscape that is truly engaging.

One of the reasons why the Japanese came to Romblon during the War was because they were looking for a radio transmitter believed to be somewhere in Odiongan. There was really a radio transmitter capable of contacting Panay and Australia. It was located on the highest mountain of Odiongan called Bandirahan, near the Triple Peak where today's PLDT, Smart, GMA, and Liberty relay towers are located. This mountain area is now becoming a tourist spot. From here, one can see all the islands of the province.

Discover Romblon's Eco-Tourism Potential. Nene Tamayo's victory has placed her in the limelight that eventually mirrors our province. With her instant celebrity status, she can help promote tourism industry in this countryside. (Click image for larger view.) Photo courtesy of Aglicay Beach Resort.
