AMICUS says
'no' to drugs

Bannering the theme
“Kayang-kayang sugpuin ang droga, kung pamilya’y sama-sama”, the
Adventist Ministry in College and University Students (AMICUS) sponsored
drug prevention campaign, RSC Auditorium, Feb.10.
The program proper
started at 8:30 in the morning where Dr. Jeter Sespeñe, College
President and Odiongan Mayor Hon. Jemly H. Fernandez rendered welcome
remarks while Prof. Rolando C. Forca, Director of Student Affairs
rendered a short talk. The College Nurse, Mrs.Grace Firmalo talked about
family relationship and Pastor Junifer Bucol, Youth Director of Romblon
Adventist Mission (RAM) tackled hierarchy of needs. Moreover, Pastor.
Rolando Aquino Jr., RAM Health Director served as the Guest Speaker of
the said campaign.
”Parents must
communicate with their children, as parents and children communicate
with God to enhance the relationship between them, to be able to prevent
some circumstances that may lead children to do evil things” Pastor
Exequiel Galve, RAM President and one of the advisers of AMICUS, said in
his closing remarks.
The participants for the
said event came from various schools such as Odiongan SDA Elem. School,
Libertad National High School (LNHS), Romblon National High School (RNHS),
Romblon College (RC), Adventist Mission Academy of Romblon (AMAR),
Romblon State College Science High School, Educational Systems
Technological Institute (ESTI), together with the different institutes
of RSC namely; Institute of Professional Studies and Teacher Education (IPSTEd),
Institute of Engineering and Technology (IET), Institute of Business and
Accountancy (IBA), Institute of Arts and Sciences (IAS), Institute of
Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry (IAFF) and Supreme Student Council (SSC). |
