Retuning the Rain

By Andrew Rejano

“All I hear are rain drops…
falling on the roof top”
Not rain, more like tears
From the essence of my fears
They sky is so grey,
From this weird feeling of disarray
Beats of rolling thunder
Makes everything blunder.
I miss the shine of the sun
A better feeling than none
I overcame a storm before
When the rain and ice came to pour
All it took were the right umbrellas to use
But not to the point where it has abuse
The thoughts of my mind are just only
What I think is just a memory
There is so much to love
But with this storm above
It seems like forever to show it
If it only peaked a shine a bit
I’ll be so high
That temptations cannot buy
No matter how bad the storm is
Or how dark the night we’ll miss
The morning and the sun
Will always come
And when it does,
My tears will be gone, not us.
I’ll always be here
To help you know our love is clear
