Danz 4A Mission Message

Last July 12, 2003, the RDL-CLEAR Philippines sponsored its first ever fund raising event, Danz 4A Mission. It was held at the Export Bank Plaza Building in Makati. The well attended affair saw Romblomanons (mostly Manila-based) coming to share in the fun and camaraderie. RDL-CLEAR Founding Director Ish Fabicon delivered the following inspirational message:



"The good news is: I am not running for any elective office in the province of Romblon. I am running with the spirit of SANROKAN, the politics of, for and by the people for the common good.

Last year during the Sanrokan 2002 in Romblon island, we asked your help to get us moving; to get us closer to the concept of a transformative community.

In our sweet little ways, we again ask your help. We must ask questions seriously and perhaps with feeling. Should we look back to our cultural past and gyrate to the tune of spaghetti pababa or spaghetti pataas? Or, should we dance in the streets to the tune of the kulingtang, the agong or the bamboo flute?

We need your help because we must dramatize our past - in our own languages! We must write about ourselves :our stories and our myths and legends. But we must try to acquire the skills to do it, instead of putting our eggs in the never ENDING game of chance!

We need your help to appreciate the wisdom of the mahogany tree. The winds howl and roar, the rains pour and the streets in the islands get flooded. : We must enjoy the lilting lullabies under a tree - a poem lovely as ourselves!

We must listen to the call of the fish in our coral reefs. We need your help to discourage the ignorant few and the intruders whose senseless disregard to the bounty of the One Spirit heaped in our islands is beyond common decency and righteousness. We must act now!

We need your help to listen - one more time - to the children, the sick and the aged in the islands.

We need your help to sit down around a table of Godlove."
