NEW BANTON
COUNCILOR SWORN IN
Mr. Patricio F.
Flores was sworn into office as a new member of the Sangguniang Bayan
of Banton, Romblon by Gov. Eleandro Jesus F. Madrona.
Mr. Flores shall
serve the unexpired term of the late Climaco F. Faigao, who was a
member of the said body when he passed away on 8 May 2002.
Mr. Flores was
appointed to the position by Gov. Madrona pursuant to Section 395
of the New Local Government Code (RA 7160) after securing a Certificate
of Membership of the LAKAS-NUCD-UMDP and a Certificate of Nomination
duly signed by Heherson T. Alvarez, who is the Secretary General of
the said political party.
Mr. Flores has
served for two terms as a member of the Sangguniang Bayan of Banton,
Romblon prior to his new appointment as member of the said body.

MEMBERS LEAD FIESTA CELEBRATION
This year's town
fiesta celebration of Banton, Romblon in honor of Patron Saint Nicholas
of Tolentino is led by five members of the local Sangguniang Bayan.
The executive
committee is headed by SBM Ismael Fabiala, chairman; SBM Alberto Fabellon,
vice-chairman; SBM Berlinda Faigao, secretary; SBM Napoleon Fadriquela,
treasurer; and SBM Johnny Fabic, press relation officer.
The other members
of the committee is preparing all the activities to be undertaken
during the fiesta celebration to make it more colorful and enjoyable.

Romblon had been chosen during the peaceful and orderly barangay and
SK elections held on July 15, 2002.
