Let's Sing!
Sweet Odiongan Rose
Composer: Dominador Bantang

(Please wait awhile for MIDI file to load to listen to the music - courtesy of Ernie L. Fran)

Brought to America by immigrants from Odiongan, Romblon, this beautiful romantic ballad has become a bit of an "anthem" each time these people gather in reunions, weddings, get-togethers and so on. It has played an important part in their lives as they try to re-connect to their old hometown even as they make a new home in a new country.

My dear, my poor heart is waiting.
Craving for your love, your sweet promises dear.
Tell me that you will be mine dear.
Sweet Odiongan Rose, sweet and divine.
Sweet Odiongan Rose, I love you so

Since you came along you broke my heart.
Your beautiful name is like romance
My love is sad without you, whom I adore.
Sweet Odiongan Rose, you are dear to me.

Whisper to me now your sweetest word
And all through the years
I love you so my dearest one
Sweet Odiongan Rose, t
ill death do us part.
