BANTON
WINS CLEANEST AND GREENEST AWARD
The island-municipality
of Banton, Romblon has won the Best Performer Award in the clean and
green search project of Region IV.
The award was conferred
to Banton and received from the Regional Search Committee for the Annual
Gawad Pangulo sa Kapaligiran of the said region during the awarding
ceremonies which were held at the Bayview Park Hotel at Roxas Boulevard,
Manila, last November 15.
The municipality
was represented in the occasion by Mayor Jory F. Faderanga, Vice-Mayor
Rolo F. Fainsan, Engr. Leovigildo F. Ferranco, MPDC, and Mrs. Nerry
Fesalbon, municipal budget officer and personnel officer designee.
The municipality
of Gasan, Marinduque, which had been best performer for three consecutive
years, bowed out to second place in this year's search.

TREEHOUSE
RENOVATED AND BLESSED
The deteriorating
bangar treehouse located in Purok Pinagkaisahan of Barangay Poblacion,
Banton, Romblon was beautifully renovated by the civic spirited members
of the purok aforementioned.
The reconstruction
work of the project was ably managed by Mr. Francis Fainsan. In an intervies
with him during the blessing of the treehouse, he told this writer that
the labor was free, but the materials used, "merienda" served
to the laborers, and other expenses totaling P10,000.00 were paid and
donated by JOVC-Ms. Satomi Shimamura.

OFFICERS
TAKE OATH OF OFFICE
The officers of
the BSP District Committee took their oath of office before Mayor Jory
F. Faderanga during the ballroom dancing which was held at the town's
Yagting Court to highlight the scouting week celebration in the island-town
of Banton, Romblon last October 15.
The officers are
scouters Messrs. Romulo A. Faz. President; Virgilio Faigao, vice-president;
Engrs. Leovigildo Ferranco, secretary; Jerry Fadrilan, treasurer; VM
Rolo Fainsan and Simplicio Fabonan, auditors; and SBM Johnny Fanic,
press relation officer.
Meanwhile, the
officers of the Parents-Teachers-Community Association of the BNHS were
likewise inducted to office by BNHS Alumni Association vice-chairman
Romulo A. Faz in the same occasion and date.
Inducted were Mrs.
Milagros Faderanga, chairwoman; SBM Berlita Fajiculay, president; ABC
Prexy Neolito Faderon, vice-president; Mrs. Elenil Fabregas, secretary;
Mrs. Gemalyn Faigao, treasurer; Mr. Efren Fajura, auditor; and Mr. Rodrigo
Faderogao, business manager.
The other members
of the Board of Directors are SBM Ismael Fabiala, Mrs. Edna Ferriol,
Mrs. Florangel Fonte, BC Ricardo Fadriquela, SBM Napoleon Fadriquela,
Mrs. Cherry Fabellon, Mr. Faustino Ferry, and Mr. Elude Faminial.
