The young people of Calatrava, Romblon, particularly the alumni of Romblon College of Fisheries and Forestry - Calatrava Annex have something to look forward to this coming Christmas vacation - the Interbatch Tournament and Cultural Contest. For almost a decade now, this sports Festival and Cultural Contest has been an after-Christmas source of entertainment for the people of Calatrava especially the youths who proudly represent their respective batch of graduates during the said event.

RCFF Batch '87, the organizers and prime movers of this event has announced that this year's Interbatch will be held on 26-30 December 2002 with its theme: Achieving Peace and Unity through sports development.

The tournaments and contests to be competed are as follows:

There will also be search for Ms. Interbatch 2002, Best Cheering Squad and Videoke King and Queen. The opening ceremonies will be held on the 26th of December after the parade around the town at 7:00 AM. Guest of honor will be Hon. Mayor Alice C. Fetalvero and other local government officials. The Cultural Contest will be held on the 29th and the Awards Night will be on the 30th.

Interbatch Tournament has been designed to create fun and heighten the excitement of the people of Calatrava throughout the Holiday Season. But beyond the goal of creating an entertainment package through athletic and cultural competitions lays the purpose of cultivating leadership, unity and cooperation among the Calatravanhon youths. RCFF Batch '87, the prime movers of this activity have conceived such noble intentions ten years ago and have since working hard to establish and sustain, firmly believing that the youths will always be the reliable partners of our government officials in the community's pursuit for progress and development.

Batch '87 is also accepting donations for the Interbatch Tournament J. The prices at stake in every contest are dependent on how much money is solicited from generous donors of different sectors.

Note:

Batch '87 staff do not need to worry much about big prices though as the members of every batch had emphasized that they will participate not because of the prices at stake but for fun and camaraderie. I remember one member saying "miskan pa tinapay kina kag premyo basta magkaibahan ag masadya kita" (even a bread for a prize would suffice as long as we are together and we all have fun).
