The late Nathaniel F. Musico composed Osang Pananamgo. He was an industrial elementary school teacher. During World War II in Banton, "comping", an art of composing lyrics to match common melodies became popular pastime for the residents, while they hid in the mountains. Although Osang Pananamgo was made during the war, it was one of the exceptions. The song is an original composition, both music and lyrics.
