You

By Andrew Rejano

At once I did not know you, I thought you were just another girl

You were a star in the night, but not shiny like a pearl.

The first time I met you, I was pretty shocked,

Although I liked someone else, in my heart I was locked.

I saw you again at the dance, I did not notice you then,

But once i saw her in his arms, my heart was in pain again.

Although I was mad, I knew it wasn't meant to be.

My heart had to move on, but where is "she" ?

I saw you alone at the table, all solitude and calm,

I asked you to dance, because the last slow song was on.

When we danced in the dark, my pain and frustration was gone,

Because there was something about you, that I wished to be with you
'till dawn.

As time passed and months came by, I never saw you.

You were in my mind sometimes, what was I to do?

The first day you called, I was pretty surprised

Although we weren't close, I had this feelign inside.

The first time I saw you in months, it was the night I asked you out,

Even though you hesitated, you said yes without a doubt.

As one cold night came, I held you in my arms,

We kissed before the moonlight, under the bright shining stars.

It was my first kiss, our first compassionate kiss.

As your sweet passionate lips touched mine in bliss.

As I look at you now, I love how your hair shimmers in the light,

I cannot resist your lovely amazing smile, and admire how your
beautiful eyes glitter when you glare at me in sight.

Now look at us, where we are now, what do you feel?

Is it your heart? Body? Soul? Do you believe it's real?

I cannot believe I'm still with you, because I believe it's true

And its also time to say... I LOVE YOU!

The author obliged Sanrokan with this poem even though it is an old one because it is Valentine month. He also reveals it is the first poem that started his poetry writing.
