Two More Young U.S. Military Men bring pride to Romblomanon kins

Two of the young men of Romblomanon descent still on active duty in the U. S. Military are Army Specialist Silver Festin and LCPL James Bongolan U.S. Marines.

Army specialist Silver Festin is with the 1st Armored Div. 501st Airborne, DART (Destroyed Aircraft Recovery Team) stationed in the Baghdad International Airport. The unit is responsible for protecting and securing the airport. It is a rescue team using Apache helicopters. Silver is the son of Melchor and Luz -nee Fiecas - Festin who reside in Massachusetts. Silver, according to his dad Melchor, will in due time, write his (Silver) thoughts for Sanrokan, including pics and short essay based on his army stint in Baghdad. "It's getting scary there! " quipped proud daddy, Melchor.

LCPL James Bongolan USM returned from Iraq on September 11 2003 (!!!) after a 10 month active duty with the Marines. He's now assigned in Camp Pendleton, California waiting for possible redeployment orders. James was with the 7th expeditionary battalion engineering support unit while in Iraq. James is the 20-year old son of Ed and Lourdes Bongolan from Plano, Texas. Lourdes "LuLu or Darling" is the daughter of Marci and Tansing Fondevilla of Odiongan, Romblon.
