RDL-CLEAR goes on-air on Chicago Radio RDL-CLEAR got a special opportunity to talk about its activities and programs in a radio interview on the prestigious Chicago Public Radio. The interview was under its Global Activism series of the Worldview Program aired last November 20, 2003. Mr. Jerome McDonnell, host of Worldview conducted the interview with RDL-CLEAR founding director Ish Fabicon. The discussions centered on the history and missions of RDL-CLEAR and the activities sponsored by the organization such as the installation of the cyberstations, tree planting, development of culture and arts, preservation of languages, drama/writer workshops, medical missions and upcoming ones like Romblon Studies Center and coral reef protection. Mr. Fabicion also took the opportunity to plug Romblon and inform Chicago listeners a few statistics about the province. The invitation for the interview was a pleasant surprise to RDL-CLEAR. It was learned that it was this organization's Sanrokan News Magazine (www.sanrokan.com), which led meticulous Worldview intern Dana Horstein to consider RDL-CLEAR for their program. The show aims to showcase organizations and individuals trying to make the world better through small-scale efforts. The 24-minute show was produced by Andrea Wenzel and is archived in the Chicago Public Radio website. For those who missed the live airing, go to http://www.chicagopublicradio.org/audio_library/wv_ranov03.asp and search for November 20 program and click on Philippines. You will need a Real Player to listen to it which can be downloaded for free (trial version) at the website. |
